Iberian Publishing Company's On-Line Catalog: Boone County Virginia
Boone County was formed in 1847 from a portion of Kanawha, Cabell, and Logan counties. The county's name honored the famous explorer and hunter, Daniel Boone. In 1867 its western area was cut off to form a part of Lincoln County.
